MANX CLASSIC CAR CLUB
SUMMER PROGRAMME 2012
We had a very good turnout for the AGM earlier this month and an excellent afternoon tea at Peel Golf Club - so good in fact that we have booked again for next year. Following this your re-elected committee of Bob Riding (President) George Gelling (Chairman) Michael Pearce (Secretary & Treasurer) together with Ken Blackburn, David Karran and Edwin Faulkner met and put their heads together to plan the events and get togethers for the coming Summer.
I have included events where we have been invited and where they are always pleased to see us and our cars - in some cases they rather depend on us so please make a big effort to attend. Events in bold are Club events.
Sunday 13th May meet at 2:00 at the Grandstand to move off at 2:30 for a run to be set by those past masters, David and Dianne Karran.
There will be afternoon tea at the end so please let them know the numbers in your party by the Friday evening at the latest on 623473 or by email to
'diannekarran@manx.net'

Sunday 24th June is Armed Forces Day and there will be a parade at 3:00 along the promenade in Douglas followed by tea at the Villa. Please could we be the bottom of Regent Street at 2:30 to follow the parade and give a lift to an old soldier and then join in the tea. They would like us to park the cars on the grass inside the Villa for the veterans to admire.
28th to 30th June. Goodwood Festival of Speed where late member George Daniels' fabulous collection of cars come under Bonham's gavel.
Sunday 1st July. Mooragh Park Classic Car Show organised by The Jaguar Enthusiasts Club and sponsored by Ramsey Town Commissioners. Sunday 15th July 2:00 for 2:30 from the Grandstand for the annual get-together of all the old car enthusiast groups on the Island for a massive joint run, but not necessarily together, to finish 'up north'. We will all converge on Bob Riding's east paddock to eat our picnics and then view Bob's wonderful collection.
